Is back beach (Karratha) any good for crabs at the moment

We just got ourselves into a small boat and are getting it wet tomorrow early. Just wondering if the crabs are still easy to find from the back beach? And where should we head to perhaps get a couple. Also any tips for fishing the bay there from a boat.

Trawler was out there last week so there are still some around.Be prepared to loose some pots to tiger sharks as they hammer them.If you have a sounder try different depths as the crabs are more numourus at different depths for some reason.Dont go to far out as the forcast reckons 20 knots

if the trawlers are in keep it a little shallower, they will still be there for sure and just keep an eye on your pots as stated above, they've been hungry lately

Been out a few times this season from the back beach, Got enough crabs within 2 hrs every time, last time was a week ago. Have not lost a pot ever, just watch the tides if you are not a seasoned back beacher or else take lots of beer with you!!

Ended up only hitting the

Ended up only hitting the water long enough to check out nickol river, catch a catfish etc. Then due to the wind and the low tide we headed in early since the chop was all too much for the kids. Just wanted to get out and get wet. Nothing doing crab wise for the time we were there. Next time perhaps.
