Anyone heading out Sunday?

Sunday is shaping up to be pretty good with not much swell and even less wind,. Is anyone heading out that wouldnt mind someone tagging along? Would prefer to head out on a boat, but even landbased would be fine if your chasing anything other than herring/gardies :p.

Got all own gear (though <10lb reel out of action atm), split fuel, provide bait etc and of course happy to help out with any deckie duties (as long as you let me know what ;) )

yeah mate we are heading out in the arvo for a night fish. there has been heaps of reports coming into work (ocean 2 outback) that there has been some really big snapper and in really shallow water (8m). Might see you out there we are a 5.8m dark blue meridian.

Busso Today

Sun, 2008-07-13 19:44

We should have stayed in bed this morn, did'nt do any good. we went out to 30metres drifted around and moved about for 1 Squid and assortment of small reef critters which went back. We tried the 4mile on the way home there were 6 other boats trying there luck we could'nt get any bites so we headed in about 2pm and went home with 1 squid. Water conditions were perfect just did'nt have any luck with the fish this time.

Days like that are sure dissapointing. Still, you were out on the water, that's what counts! Better luck next time mate. Maybe it was just too calm.

My most important piece of tackle decided to crap itself Cry (phone that is)

My phone alarm, which I set at the correct time didnt go off. I felt like such crap all day, rather pissed off. Luckily, because I had Pauls number to contact him, they didnt end up waiting too long so still got out there without much delay.

Screens going a bit weird atm too with weird orange pixels creeping in, so I think i'll be looking for a new phone soon. No idea why, havent dropped it (in water or the ground)

edit: whats the saying? Never before and never again?

Hi Ya,

I keep telling my kids (22yo & 24 yo) if you want a camera, buy a camera.  If you want an alarm, bu an alarm.  If you want a phone buy a phone AND phones are for making phone calls.  Everything esle they try to do is only ever second best.  Can't blame the tool if the tool isn't a specialist piece of equipment.  You wouldn't buy a rake handle to use as a fishing rod would you?  Well, then again ...

Cheers.

Righteo, nothing to see here.  Not good form to do a no show, atleast you called which would make me give you a second chance.  For a relatively in-experienced fisherman you sure do know a lot Hlokk.  Personally I go for the 'I don't know shit approach and then let your fishing do the talking' - Might get you a little further, but hey, what do I know.. Diamond Trevally!

Thu, 2008-07-17 11:25

That Ody was the biggets diamond Trevally i've ever seen and a cracker shot. Deefa caught that on my boat in Exxy and i cant remeber the weight exactly but i think it was about 8kg. My mate that lives in Exxy said it was the biggest he'd seen. Caught in shallowish water and gave Deefa a great fight on his driftbaiting combo!
