We were there in June, wanted to camp at Tea tree, but high tides and storm surges flooded the track and low lying land, we ended up staying at Prickly Point.

Really depends on if you are taking a boat, and how big. Prickly Point there is no sandy beach, but a natural harbour, and good natural boat ramp, then just a matter of finding a nice hole off your map, we were catching snapper thick like flies, but had no tags so was a quick photo then release, and yes fisheries boat pulled up along side us and checked us out!

The snapper were thick even casting off the shore, couldnt even catch a whiting for the fry pan because of so many snapper!

There was fresh (bore) water at this site (and 'the huts'), and a single drop dunny, and it is not called 'prickly point' for nothing, a lot of doudle G's.

Personally for a trip of any length , i would be heading for steep point!

Hope this helps :)
