G'day all. I just scored a a50d sounder/plotter with a airmar p58 tranny but my outboard is not set up to charge a battery would a fully charged car battery run it for the day

Yes. You may want to invest in a gel type battery.. smaller and easier to handle plus less weight for your boat.

Dont bother with a Car
Dont bother with a Car battery.I use a very small 9.8ah lithium battery and it goes for days, run light sounder and all. A cheap option is a 7ah security backup battery!

Cheers mate. I got 8hours out of the car battery it died in the ass just as I pulled in the Dawesville cut Nav lights still worked but the gps had enough lol I'll have to sort something out. Cheers for the feedback lads.
