Bit more progress on the ramp at Tantabiddi. posts are in and they are backfilling the rockwall on the south side of it.
I get my boat back next week, so they better git their arse in gear.............

Yeah I had a look Thursday arvo. Be good to get the new one though we never had any grief with the old ramp, just had to have your shit together when the tide was low. Pulled out a few times on less than 0.7 with no probs and saw blokes with tinnies getting into grief.

Gonna be a big improvement
It is going to have two ramps and a finger jetty with a rockwall. I think similar to coral bay layout but bigger and longer.
Someone has already posted the plans for it on here somewhere. Just do a search and you'll find em.

Rock wall ???
Which side of the ramp will the rockwall be?? north or south. I can see possible problems if it's on the south side, the silt could be washed around the end & dumped in front of the ramp. Similar to what happens with the little creek alongside now. Any thoughts on that.....

They certainly are not wasting any time , took the mob building our one about 6 months to get that far and its still not open, bitumen and kerbing work should be finished in a week , touch wood.

boat ramp plans look awesome. i guess this means no launching from tantabiddi at the moment? :) Are there any other options to launch of the west side with tantas out of action? driving round from budegi looks like the only option yer? any info would be appreciated.

I think some people launch tinnies from Yardie Creek and a few other sites along there, but if youve got a boat over 5m I think you may be stuck with bundegi.
If thats the case, its been white caps out the west side this week anyway, so if you have to fish the gulf or the north end, it may turn out alright for ya.
