2 spots spare - reduced price - jigging and popping trip to Panama, August 2016

Panama is a place that's been on my list for a while now, primarily for the huge level of diversity that's available. Everyone knows about the Yellowfin Tuna there with plenty of specimens up to 100kg+ getting taken out on the Hannibal banks each year. But there's also awesome medium tackle surface fishing and jigging for Roosterfish, Cubera Snapper, Broomtail Grouper and Amberjack. In addition to that there's a host of other bluewater fish available like marlin, sailfish and wahoo. So it really has everything. I am putting together a specialised trip for next year and have some spaces available. This will be a 100% jigging and popping trip. The lodge that I am booking is situated in Pedasi, which has incredible fishing for many species but in particular for trophy size cubera snapper and roosterfish. Every year they take roosters over 100lb on popper at this lodge. The time of year I am going is late August into September. First fishing day is Monday 29 August. The base package is to fish 5 days, but there's the option to add extra days at the end (I will likely fish 6) but not everyone has to do the extra days. At this time of year, this lodge is normally shut for the rainy season. I have arranged for the lodge to re-open for this one week if I book the whole lodge (3 boats), simply because the tides are spot on and most importantly, this is the time of year when the biggest tuna and Roosters are likely to be present. It is important to note though that whilst Pedasi gets a lot less rain than the rest of Panama, it is still the rainy season so we will likely get some rain. But it will still be warm, and I've been advised that these months have the lowest wind - so it should not interrupt the fishing. The pricing is very reasonable. I've done a nice deal as will be booking the whole lodge, so much so that I'm not able to publish the price. If you are interested please drop me a message but to give you some idea, the cost for 6 nights accommodation, 5 days fishing and all your meals is roughly the same as a 5 day Monte Bellos charter. That price is based on fishing 3 to a boat, and doing 5 days fishing. If you want to fish 2 to a boat or do more than 5 days I can advise pricing. On top of that you need to add your flights to Panama City from wherever you are and airport transfers (3.5 hour drive) which work out around $100 a head. 40% deposit required to confirm the spot, balance payable 2 weeks before the trip. Cheers, Dan

TWO SPOTS NOW AVAILABLE

Two people have now had to pull out on this trip. Offering these two places at a loss now. Price for the charter is now less than a trip to the Monte Bellos (not including flights) so someone please get on this! If you need any incentive, check out this massive Rooster that was just caught there at the lodge recently. please PM for more info.

When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:

n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or

n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

 that's an awesome package Dan.

If it's comparable pricewise to similar monties trip I'd consider that a bargain!!

Doesn't suit my schedule next year but you've certainly opened my eyes up to fishing opportunities outside of Oz.

Hope you can pull it off as I'd love to go myself and would look forward to pics from there.

Lol....I watched Robson Green chase those roosterfish and would certainly like to tick them off the bucketlist.

Thanks for sharing.

Cheers

Looks like an awesome trip, Dan.

Definitely tempting,  but the trip to No Boundaries in April  next year is probably my limit for international fishing travels in a single year - I'm not sure how much more I could get away with.

A second spot now available, and these spots are going to get sold at a loss. If you are keen, it's a great opportunity for a bargain trip. I am not allowed to publish the price online but message me if you are keen.

Wed, 2016-06-08 19:58

Hi Dan,
Could you please send details of the trip including flights & costs.
Also is there a possibility to stay longer or catch flights else were on the return leg?
Thanks
Frank
