It's Official
Submitted by jay_burgess on Tue, 2007-01-23 17:38G'day Fellas,
Just got back from Perth where I went for a jig aboard Nebraska. As you've probably heard the jigging was a bit slow but I still had fun and all the more reason for me to come back and try again next year. Was great to meet you guys, Honsu, Kasey, Scott, Neil & Shizz when I popped into Campbells on monday.
Now officially a resident of Karratha. Starting my apprenticeship on monday (looking forward to it).
Computer is being a bit of a pain at the moment with numerous problems that I'm going to have to sort out soon. My visits might be a bit sparse until I get the computer sorted out :x
I've got soooooo much new content to check out that has been added to the site since I've been away. It's quite amazing what gets added in a few days.
Might go up to samson tomorrow and chuck a few lures and poppers around for some Jacks... I'll let you know how I go.

Boat Ramp Rules???
Submitted by TAPOUT on Sun, 2007-01-21 16:25Headed out for a dive in the arvo today with nothing but dramas. Firstly the waters around my dive spot were absolutly full of blue bottles. Secondly as soon as I cranked up the Hookah a hose clamp let go so that was the end of that. On the way back stopped of for a quick squid session with good success. Boated 6 huge squid in half an hour.So that got the missus smiling again. Back at the ramp there was a line of boats waiting to get to the ramps. So I lined up and waited my turn. As I waited I noticed the end ramp had only one boat there wich was hooking it up to get it out of the water, so I headed over for a closer inspection. There was heaps of room for the next boat in line to get in but no one was claiming it. I circled for a while waiting for someone to take it but no one even seemed interested in it. So after waiting a bit longer and the other boat almost on its trailer I decided I would take the spot. After pulling up and pulling the boat up so as another boat could come in I noticed a couple of boaties looking my direction and shaking there heads like I had done something wrong. Now I probably jumped the line by about five boats but did I accually do anything wrong? . There were no boats waiting to come in, There are no signs saying retreive or launch jetty only, and no one else took the spot with ample oppertunity.

Fishing trips planned for 2007?
Submitted by Adam Gallash on Sun, 2007-01-21 09:16Anyone got any plans for fishing trips in 2007 that they've been planning for a while, preparing for or just can't wait to come around. Thought I'd start a thread to help get you a bit more excited for that upcoming holiday where you might get to drop a line and maybe get that one you've been wanting for a while. You never know, you might be able to get that extra bit of advice from someone thats been there and done that. ;)

Credit Card Scam - Beware!
Submitted by Adam Gallash on Thu, 2007-01-11 12:17WARNING..New Credit Card Scam. Note, the callers do not ask for your card number; they already have it.
This information is worth reading. By understanding how the VISA & MasterCard Telephone Credit Card Scam works, you'll be better prepared to protect yourself.
One of our employees was called on Wednesday from "VISA", and I was called on Thursday from "MasterCard".
The scam works like this: Person calling says, "This is (name), and I'm calling from the Security and Fraud Department at VISA. My Badge number is 12460 your card has been flagged for an unusual purchase pattern, and I'm calling to verify. This would be on your VISA card, which was issued by (name of bank). Did you purchase an Anti-Telemarketing Device for $497-99 from a Marketing company based in Sydney?"
When you say "No", the caller continues with, "Then we will be issuing a credit to your account. This is a company we have been watching and the
charges range from $297 to $497, just under the $500 purchase pattern that flags most cards. Before your next statement, the credit will be sent to
(gives you your address), is that correct?"
You say "yes". The caller continues - "I will be starting a Fraud investigation. If you have any questions, you should call the 1- 800 number listed on the back of your card (1-800-VISA) and ask for Security. You will need to refer to this Control Number. The caller then gives you a 6-digit number. "Do you need me to read it again?"
Here's the IMPORTANT part on how the scam works. The caller then says, "I need to verify you are in possession of your card". He'll ask you to "turn your card over and look for some numbers". There are 7 numbers; the first 4 are part of your card number; the next 3 are the security numbers that verify you are the possessor of the card. These are the numbers you sometimes use to make Internet purchases to prove you have the card. The caller will ask you to read the 3 numbers to him After you tell the caller the 3 numbers, he'll say, "That is correct, I just needed to verify that the card has not been lost or stolen, and that you still have your card. Do you have any other questions?" After you say No, the caller then thanks you and states, "Don't; hesitate to call back if you do", and hangs up.
You actually say very little, and they never ask for or tell you the Card number but after we were called on Wednesday, we called back within 20 minutes to ask a question. Are we glad we did! The REAL VISA Security Department told us it was a scam and in the last 15 minutes a new purchase of $497.99 was charged to our card. I checked this out on snopes.com. Long story made short - we made a real fraud report and closed the VISA account. VISA is reissuing us a new number.
What the scammers want is the 3-digit PIN number on the back of the card. Don't give it to them. Instead, tell them you'll call VISA or Master card directly for verification of their conversation. The real VISA told us that they would never ask for anything on the card, as they already know the information since they issued the card! If you give the scammers your 3 Digit PIN Number, you think you're receiving a credit. However, by the time you get your statement you'll see charges for purchases you didn't make, and by then it's almost too late and/or more difficult to actually file a fraud report.
What makes this more remarkable is that on Thursday, I got a call from a "Jason Richardson of MasterCard" with a word-for-word repeat of the VISA scam. This time I didn't let him finish. I hung up! We filed a police report, as instructed by VISA. The police said they are taking several of these reports daily! They also urged us to tell
Everybody we know that this scam is happening.
Please pass this on to all your family and friends. By informing each other, we protect each other.

Happy New Year
Submitted by Adam Gallash on Sun, 2006-12-31 09:46Happy New Year to everyone for tonight. Hope you have a safe one and enjoy the night if you make something of it.
Also just got back from Denmark last night. We caught a heap of salmon trout and herring trolling hard bodies in the inlets and got some monster cobbler on the gidgee one night, to the extent that they were 5 thick in some stages and it was choosing which one to take. Awesome fun. Didn't get to go breaming, but there was plenty of alcohol consumption to make up for it.
Looks like theres been some great photos and stories since boxing day, looking foward to reading and looking at them. Heres to more great fishing action in 2007! Happy New Years.
Cheers,
Adam

Free to computer broadcast of ESPN and heaps of other pay TV channels. Quality isn't brilliant but I just watched Barcelona crush Club America in the Japan 2006 World Club Championships, and now I'm watching Chelsea versus Newcastle. Stumbled on the freeware a while ago and been watching a few gridiron matches and soccer. Anyone else heard of it?

Monday Joke
Submitted by Adam Gallash on Mon, 2006-12-04 09:58Sorta goes with the recent Tiara comments: ;)
Joke:
My flight was being served by an obviously gay flight attendant, who seemed to put everyone in a good mood as he served us food and drinks.
As the plane prepared to descend, he came swishing down the aisle and told us that "Captain Marvey has asked me to announce that he'll be landing the big scary plane shortly, so lovely people, if you could just put your trays up, that would be super."
On his trip back up the aisle, he noticed this well-dressed and rather Arabic looking woman hadn't moved a muscle. "Perhaps you didn't hear me over those big brute engines but I asked you to raise your trazy-poo, so
the main man can pitty-pat us on the ground."
She calmly turned her head and said, "In my country, I am called a Princess and I take orders from no one."
To which the flight attendant replied, without missing a beat,
"Well, sweet- cheeks, in my country I'm called a Queen, so I outrank you. Tray-up, Bitch."
