My NEW PB MONSTER BLUEBONE!!!!

Caught today my new PB bluebone, went 72cm and 15.5 LB. Was stoked! Starting to get some good fish at this spot. Mate webby's rod getting a good hit in the background!

I agree. I have tried it with a 24kg rod and 80lb braid but that first flex of the rod lets them get their head down and find the coral.
That would have to be the biggest I have seen by line though. Big ones like that are usally only taken by spear.
Once again top effort.

NOHA I was talking about baldchin sizes and realised today that the state record for BALDCHIN GROPER is a bee's dick over 7 kg's!!!!
That means that jimbo's fish was a cracker and just shy of state record!
You were talking 20+ kgs but I get the feeling it might have been blue bone or Blue groper!
Great fish Brad it is like us catching buff bream but edible!!!!!

Grant Fishes of Australian has baldies getting to 55lb.
I to was sceptical of that size until I had a chat with one of the first scuba divers to fish the Abrohlos. This guy fished there professionally says he shot many baldies over 50lb back in the sixties.
I guy I work with recently went to Bernier Island diving and says he shot baldies in excess of 10kgs. He has no photo but has a video of then cleaning the fish. I have asked for a copy to see if I can extract a decent still of such a large baldie.

To put it in perspective it was caught on the same day as a 21.8 kg dhuie but was the fish of the day!!!!!!!!!Just don't tell Jimbo!
