ps, did you see heaps of dolphins today?? we had a pod of around 30-40 hunting a massive school of fish under the boat...very cool!!! saw some whales too
We had a very quiet afternoon but the conditions were magic. Found a new lump with fish on it so I was happy. Coming home with a couple of nice fish was a bonus.
I used a new release weight today, seeing as someone released my release weight a few trips back. Worked a treat, very basic huge sinker with a barbless hook tec screwed into the side of the sinker. The boys at Compleat Angler in Joondalup make them up and gave me one when I told them I was making one up myself. I think they sell for $10 each which is pretty cheap when the sinkers themselves cost about that much.
There are a few variations on them out there now so no excuses for not having one onboard guys.
Thats a good point to put acroos but in my experiance the only YF tuna that hang around with them are usally the same bluddy size as them!lol. Ive tried it twice near rotto and the result = 2x spooled!lol. Worth a shot though, or use bigger gear than 10kg :)
its funny you say that john...i said the same thing to shag...but unfortunately didnt have any lures withme.... just prior to seeing them move in there was a school of fish in the thousands under our boat... silery fish around the foot long mark.... everywhere!!! was quite a site!!
luke ps, next time i will be prepared!!! pps... spess...those dolphins sound like they go hard!!!! lol
nice pink andy jeez its been too long since ive got one, im frothing at the bit. Your starting to get quite a collection of species there. not many left you havent caught hey

Trolling
Did you troll any lures around the dolphins Luke? Definitely a good chance of a yellowfin when you find dolphins working bait.
