Juvenile Black Jewfish

We threw out a smaller line to see what some of the pickers were and we got a couple of fish we don't see too often including a Javeline fish and this juvenile Black Jew.

I would love to put him in a big fish tank and fatten him up for christmas. I honestly think there the best looking fish in the ocean.

Did the javelin put on a little symphony for you when he was lifted into the boat?
Love the noise those things make. Good size ones pull alright as well.

Yeah we call 'em grunter or
Yeah we call 'em grunter or in the NT 'ock ock' or something like that. The jew made a similar noise which is why they're sometimes called croakers.
