On sunday there is a lull for a few hours 6- 12 knots that might be ok, relaxing start 9-30 :) just make sure you check before you go out, the interete can get it right a lot of the time but not always :(

But remember if your really keen you can alwasy hide nar the marina walls for wind shelter with a swell of only 2 m inshore should be fine.

usually take one on the way
usually take one on the way to the ramp..... side affects are... dry mouth( keep ya fluids up anyway when boating!!)..and yes, at the end of a days fishing, i tend to crash pretty quickly...if your prone to bad sea sickness, take one when you go to bed, and another when you get up .... should see you right

spewie lewie does
two slices of toast, take (I like Kwells) two straight away, as they take half a hour to kick in. I've found that if I start to feel a bit queezy I have half a sandwich and I'm fine for about 4/5 hours then time to come home. Those travelcalm lost a good dhui cos I nodded off hubbie was not happy Jan, they just make me sleep. But kwells don't. Apparently you can buy ginger tablets, are very good as well, take them with sea sickness pills and out in boat every 4 hrs. I've got some ginger tablets but haven't tried them yet.

As used by the Aust and US navy
Avomine - get it from your chemist. No crappy side effects like travelcalm etc which give you horrible cotton mouth, drowsiness and so on.
Have one before bed, make sure you drink plenty of water that night, then have one with an iced coffee in the morning about 30 minutes or so before you take off and you'll be apples for the day.
If you are super keen to get your tub wet and with the weather forecast, I reckon the relatively protected Cockburn Sound *may* be a better option - especially if you aren't overly experienced as it sounds like this is your first boat. You'll be able to chase squid, skippy, hezza and you may even snag a pinkie.
And fyi, while the winds may be low, remember that a 2m sea can be quite lumpy - especially if you get seasick easily. It wont be a fun maiden voyage if you are the designated burley producer.

travel calm and avomine have the same ingredients, except travel calm has caffeine as well, to stop drowsyness.....

Interesting
Never had a problem with avomine, but travelcalm and kwells sucked baws.
Oh well, give it a crack - if it's no good try something else. We are all different.

yep, very very true
yep, very very true huggyB... i had many bad fishing trips till i found what worked for me... trial and error!!!
another tip for you though reuben, is to eat dry foods...like biscuits and chips etc... and also, anything with ginger works very well to combat sea sickness....such as ginger beer, gingernut biscuits etc....

Yes
I found the more you go out and I still take the pills, yes you seem to stay out a bit longer, I've got the eye and ear imbalance, can't look down in boat or look at sounder for hubbie, I get car sickness if I sit in the back seat for a long journey.

Try taking the travel calm
Try taking the travel calm 1/2 hour before you head out mate. Gives it time to soak into the system, try drinking it with coke. Works for me and BBQ shapes are great and powerade drinks work well also. Drink plenty of fluids, if you dehydrate you will feel sick sooner.

question about pills
Sounds better then it is eh ? :)
Just wondering I take a kewl before I go and I find I am fine, how is everyone when they come back in ? I crash am knackered at the end I just wonder how much of that si cause I popped a pill or how much is caused by the actual ac to of simply being at sea.

Not the pills
I never take anything, and never have a problem... but, at the end of a 12 hour day of fishing... with your body constantly "fighting" the ocean's rock and roll, together with pulling in huge fish (haha yeah right damo), having to reef up the anchor about 6 times in 20-40m's, as well as the effect of the sun and the salt, I'm knackered at the end of the day...
Hope that sheds some light for you.
Cheers,
damo

Never say that Damo as you
Never say that Damo as you may come to regret it!
I have seen a heap of non chuckers chuck when the weather has turned crappy!
It's even better when they are in denial about it and say "no I'm fine" and then the chucking starts!LOL!

Yeah fluids
As Russ says, it's really important to keep your fluids up.
Nice to see others are knackered after a big day on the water, I was beginning to think it was just my age.
