Awoonga Barra

Am in very wet QLD at the moment. Went for a quick drive to Awoonga Dam near gladstone today just for a look. Flicked a few lures around off the bank and caught this 83cm Barra(which is small for this place.) Was my first impoundment barra. Very lucky to land it, the reel i was using shit it self and i had to skull drag it in by hand with the thirty pound braid (ouch) was stoked so i decided to call it quits after my luck. Might take the boat out tomorrow.

spot on andy, they do that in the rec area to prevent erosion i guess. Mate it is a shame you cant see the parking lot and picnic table to my right. A far cry from fishing for barra in the pilbara that is for sure
