Caught using 6lb line and a lot of luck.

Agree with you there Hutch but as the saying goes "You have to piss with the D*** you have".
The story is my mate semi-permantly lives on his boat on the jetty south of the sheds in TR. He went and got a mid range outfit for flicking little lures at the bream and baby snapper that are around so he has something else to do in the arvo while sinking a tinny or two.
When he saw the salmon he found his biggest lure and proceded to get bricked so headed to IGA for a couple more and the twisties were the only lures that looked like the hooks might hold.
Last year about this time i tried the same thing but it was sambo's smashing the bait and not salmon. Only had my TLD outfit on that boat so helecoptered a halco lure out by hand and cranked it back. Got slammed and then bricked in 15sec by those brutes. Us fishermen will give anything a go once wouldnt we..Lol

Landed a few at Mewstone on 15g twisties. Remarkably the hooks handled better than larger ones on larger lures...
