PB Trout
Took the boat out for a quick session this afternoon to continue my current tuna trolling success. We didn't see a school in miles of water covered so I decided to send down a jig at a location I hadn't tried before. Now with no sounder and the local guy that I have navigating telling me to line up between 'that coconut tree and the biggest rock to the right of us' I didn't hold much hope. Needless to say I dropped in the area that he indicated. Jig hit the bottom, quickly wound in the slack and raised the rod for the first jig. On the rod raise, bang, on jumps my PB trout. Not a monster I admit but a PB is a PB. Worse luck I lost that jig about 15 minutes later in the coral. Oh well I have a few more before an emergency mail-order needs to go out.

Congrats Soupy - great
Congrats Soupy - great looking fish. You must be spinning the locals out with those pretty bits of metal!
The big cat Alfred is parked on its boat ramp a few metres from the house and all of us have a very small part share in it. Keep working hard mate, so we can all sleep well at night. hehehe
Cheers Pete

Laugh
Yep the locals used to laugh at me as they dropped baits and I dropped a jig. Now that I'm outfishing the local traditions they aren't laughing so much now. The laughing should stop completely once the sounder gets here and is installed.

Hey Soupy
Are the trout OK to eat there or are they prone to Ciguetera?

Ok
I've been told they're okay. Large red bass are a worry, but I won't be eating any of them anyway.

Gear
I brought most of my gear with me Colin in my removal sea-container. Sent the container about two months before I left Aus and it arrived about a week after I got here. I've had a couple of 'emergency' mail drops from Oceanside since I've been here though.
