Fun yesterday

Went out for a fish yesterday from Hillary's and had a ball jigging up sambos in 27 metres of water. We landed over 25 sambos in a few hours. Great fun on light gear, never realised just how hard these things pull for thier size. The biggest was around 10 kilos and the rest were 7-8 kilos

One of the fish had worms in the flesh so didn't try that one, but we've feasted out for the last 2 nights. these things are friggin awesome to eat.

they are very underated
they are very underated eating fish. nice firm flesh good for all sorts of cooking.you didnt go too bad with only one with worms in it. never come accross them in one myself.good fertilizer in the garden

started with 150 gram jigs,
started with 150 gram jigs, then went to 250 and finished on 400. They loved them all

Sounds like you had a top session Gav. That's a mountain of fish in very little time. I'm sure you wish it could always be like that.

at least then you would have more than 3 days of eating fish. still cant believe you scoffed 2 whole sambo's in 3 days. those kids of yours must love their fish. its about time you taught them to catch their own dinner :) .

What can I say, the boys really like their fish and don't worry they are pestering me to take them out. they're just a little too young at the moment to take them out there. I still cant trust them enough
