Catch and release

Catch and release

Found this little guy down the park in a bush, tried to put him up back in a tree but was almost eaten by a magpie, so is now in our care.

Tawny Frog Mouth?  Hard to pic in blurred pic - they do look threatening with that big beak

Raised one from a chick aswell many moons ago.  Trained it to hunt for mice.  Had it for a few years in the back shed  - no cage once it could fend for itself.  It would swoop us at night when we swam in the pool.  It eventually flew off of its on accord.

Cheers Pete

Well done mate! How's the tissue bed coming along for the bird? What are you feeding him? Make sure you regurgitate your food and let the chicky pick it out of your mouth! lol.

My reels screaming zzzzzzz.... awwww damn it, its another boat!

All the best for the future fishing trips.

haha

Feeding it millipedes, flies, worms, tiny bits of bread with honey and any other wriggling critter!  don't need to regurgitate which is a bonus!

I must be changing the tissues every hour like a nappy, definately a messy bugger.

Man you must be going through a few tissue boxes at this rate! When was he found? Bloody Magpies are bullies! Is everything ok with the little bird? Looks like a mutton bird, but it can't be!

I've got a link here which is great on how you should feed the bird and stuff! It's helped me raise my Western Indian Ringnecks! Hope it helps mate!
