Worldwide Fishing Predictor
A good friend of mine has given me the "Worldwide Fishing Predictor" software so I am now able to see what moon phases, tidal movements and every other little criteria is supposed to do to the day's fishing.
As an example Tuesday through to Friday of this week is supposed to be red hot fishing with an 80% score according to the predictor for Perth. I can plug in other locations and see what it says if anyone is interested.
Minor and Major feeding times for Perth waters is as follows:-
Minor Major Minor Major
Tues 22 02.31am 07.42am 12.58pm 08.04pm
Wed 23 03.03am 08.27am 01.56pm 08.48pm
Thu 24 03.31am 09.09am 02.52pm 09.28pm
Fri 25 03.57am 09.48am 03.47pm 10.07pm
Sat 26 04.21am 10.27am 04.40pm 10.46pm
Sun 27 04.45am 11.06am 05.34pm 11.26pm
Notably Saturday is the Apogee (a particular moon phase) and is at 70% and Sunday is at 60%
Would be interesting to see how accurate this thing is.
Does anyone have an absolute red letter day in recent history, as I can check back and see what it said about that location and that day.
Cheers

Onslow predictions
Big disclaimer here but this is what it says... Looks great at 80% which is the top reading I have seen on the reports. The Thursday before you go is also at 80%. Looks like you should clean up.
date minor major minor major ranking
22 04.58am 11.02am 05.11pm 11.21pm 80%
23 05.27am 11.40am 05.59pm 12.00am 80%

26 07.02am 01.45pm 08.33pm 01.23am 60%
Sunrise is about 06.12am and sun set 06.17pm during that period.
I would make sure I am on my best spots around the midday major time slots.
Good luck!

No match with the computer, it says the major bite would have been between 3.41pm and 6.11pm, ranking was 60% for the day.
Shows why there needs to be a big disclaimer with these things.
Its all to do with the moon and the major times match with moon up above and moon below, with minor times when the moon is setting or rising. Something to do with gravitational pull on swin bladders making them hungry or not.
Looks like you landed on a patch of obese fish that like to snack in between meals (don;t we all?)

3.41pm hotbite
Can refute that evidence. We headed out wide at 1.30, based upon the hotbite of 3.40 pm on the chart plotter, the fish were biting but it certainly wasn't feeding time, maybe that was the minor peak. Because Tapout and Bouttime were out there early and were into a few sambos and skipps, Mav was out there at lunch and the bite was hot, and we were there in the arvo and it was average.

Exmouth
I'll give you a tip for that time bibs, judging from the latest Exmouth Game fishing report and the report I got from someone about the FWA crew success, theres a heap of fish going off at the moment!
Are you taking a boat up with you?

Sounds gooooooooood! Just been watching Andy Mac's Exmouth vids, sure you guys will be in for a good time as long as the weather holds, but with 2 weeks your gauranteed to atleast get a few good days at minimum.
What do you guys like fishing for mainly? Bottom bouncing/trolling etc?

Sweet
Awesome, should be in for another good trip then. I was speaking to Mark Richter last night and he said that the FWA boys have been catching a few billfish on the soft grassy lure. If you haven't then it might be worth grabbing one, I've only heard good things about them recently.

Exmouth forecast
Hi Bibs,
As the guys have pointed out, the fish don;t necessarily read these computer generated reports and have a mind of their own. However for what its worth this is what it says about Exmouth for the week commencing 26 Aug 06.
date Minor Major Minor Major Rating
26 06.57am 01.05pm 07.16pm 12.45am 70% (Apogee)
27 07.27 01.43 08.05 01.23 60%
28 07.56 02.23 08.55 02.02 50%
29 08.28 03.05 09.46 02.44 40%
30 09.04 03.50 10.41 03.27 40%
31 09.44 04.39 11.38 04.14 30%
It can only get better from there for the following week.
Besides Exmouth is chock a bloc full of fish so you should do well even on a so called bad day.
I think the Apogee is when the moon is closest to Earth in its orbit, hence the greater gravitational pull and stronger feeding time. (Although I could be getting that mixed up with the Perigee, long time since I did highschool science.)
Cheers

Andy Mac, could you look at Dampier for the 1st of September to the 7th? I'm over there next friday for a week for job interview and hoping to get some fishing in while I'm there.
