who is resposible

The Bent st boat ramp is my bug bear , I reported the fact that the nav aid on the end of the ramp was out over 2 months ago to the council they told me they would sort it, Been O/S a few weeks and went for a look at the ramp and yes its still out .
I don't understand it , why is it grumpy old barstards like me have to take these issues up to get them sorted

I think you will find it's  not councils responsibility but the port authority, council wont do anything....a bit like the dodgy cleats at the point perron ramp it was brought to their attention when the new ramp opened....nothing has been done.

You will find that Dept of Transport are responsible for the navigation light and more than likely the broken cleats on the Point Peron ramp.

Point peron cleats

Not broken just in a bad location for boats with flared bows.....(boats drop on them with a bit of swell) and council confirmed it was councils resposibility but nothing has been done.

Contact them and say you have had an accident of sorts.

And let them know you reported the issue etc. then get another person to ring saying they have had an accident. That should get some action :)

The Fremantle and Cockburn

The Fremantle and Cockburn channel markers belong to Fremantle Ports, and all other marks are the responsibility of DPI. Same with all public ramps.

The council wouldnt give a fk I should imagine.

Fremantle Port Authority are

Fremantle Port Authority are responsible for all navigation markers within port limits (marked on the charts). Dot or Marine Safety or whatever they call themselves responsible for all others. would not recommend making up reports of accidents because like motor vehicle accidents, there is an obligation to report and you could find yourself in legal bother (false report).

If you have no luck with DoT, lobby your local State member of parliament. Tell him or her there will be votes for them at the next election if its fixed...
