wheres the flathead

 hi guy are there any flathead being caught around canning bridge yet, i know there getting alot of tailor around there even mulloway and soapies. ive been fishing around bywater park near shelly but i think im alittle to far south as the water isnt warm enough yet....cheers from the new guy

 They are where you find them try closer to the river mouth as its early. I'm hoping if I get time to fish this weekend I'll also get stuck into them and I'll post some pics but at this stage I'm too busy

 They are every where if you know how to fish for them. Try placcies with a slow retrieve hop and pause, mate caught some at bassendean a few weeks ago over 45 and a ripper 60cm at belmont last week, I'd say that canning would be holding, just look for the schools of hardy heads and the big girls will be under them. Deep water point is also a go to spot for me for flatties too, always bait there and its got a nice gutter. The cooler water just slows them down imo they are always there tho. Good luck!

 great info guys thanks... tried canning bridge yesterday and was attacked by blowies lol  went back to shelly bridge and caught a 1.2kg bream

yeah, went for a bit of a bream bash and was surprised to get a couple of flattys up Guildford way. I usually get a few around belmont area too this time of year.
