What a way to end the year, bronze and blue magic!!!

Spent the days before new year chasing mulloway and diving a bit with some ok results. New years eve I couldn't be bothered with drinking and the hangover so the call was made for a few of us to hit the beach after a final big shark for the year. Had 3 runs on big baits and got one very nice bronzie just on sunset and a little one on a cast bait just before midnight.

New years day we got up a bit late and mate sends me a message "lets go for a dive" Crap ok no probs hahaha, went to a spot close to town with the water being so calm and clear. Huge walk in and talk of how much it would suck to walk back out with a few decent fish. Hour in the water and we said that's enough hahaha. 35kg of fish was very hard to walk out and a huge mission!!! Well worth the effort and my mate Michael got his big blue he has been after for a while. All in all a magic few days and what a way to bring in the new year and end the old!!! .

We eat fish as fast as we

Tue, 2013-01-01 21:14

We eat fish as fast as we catch it so at least 5 times a week so we try to target a few different species to keep us interested. All the mulloway and sharks go back to by the way so only fish we shoot spearfishing is basically all we keep

 Cheers guys I'm loving it

Cheers guys I'm loving it down here, so many fish to target. That shark wasn't that big the photo just makes it look big, it was only about 130-140kg and only took 30-40mins to get in on the heavy 50lb gear so not huge but still good enough to keep me happy. No big tailor down here Brett just little ones in the river and the odd big one of beaches but not enough to go out and target or that I've found anywhere good enough yet.

Great blue there - gotta get me one of those one day.

Seems you've got the south west sorted!

When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:

n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or

n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

Magic place out there and shouldn't be hard to get a nice blue around. The 2 we got we where choosy and shot one of the larger ones and one small one but had about 10 cruising around us.
