What a skipper

Simo_ took me out in his boat yesterday for a fish . The conditions were nowhere as good as we thought they would be to get out wide so we settled for a fish in the 35m range. He drove me around in his boat till we got some fish. i got a 48cm dhuie which came up green from about 35m and seemed to go back well. Then he put me on to a keeper a big bigger Dhuie, not sure of the weight as the scales didnt work. I did get a couple of pics but cant load them from my Shitty computer somewhere around the 5kg mark great eating size. I even got a couple of crappy fish . The whole time Simo drove me around, sat and fished next to me chatted and kept me company and didnt catch a thing as to not outdo me. what a Guy. Cheers Simo for a great day out.

The weather wasn't the best for fishing yesterday, so it was good that you landed a couple of nice Dhuies.

Job

He was just doing his job which is to put the boat on to fish so the deckies can catch them.If the decky cannot catch fish that isn't the skippers fault.

What is your etiquette, re: the catch when you head out with guests ?

I share the catch evenly, doesn't matter who catches what .

As for sea sickness, toughen up princess !

Split

Mon, 2010-02-08 17:35

Usually leave the fish on ice to set and do the filletting the next day and do a roughly 50/50 split.Only a 5 metre boat so unless fishing in close only one passenger

No Simo was trying i was just rubbing it in cause he usually out fishes me all the time and i finally got one up on him. I/we share whatever we catch its the only decent thing to do. If we both get fish we usually just keep our own.
