Just bought a kaigen 1000 for under 500 delivered from anglers station kl , have dealt with them before and pretty good did research and read reviews went the banax as pretty similar specs and about half the price , havent tried any deep jigging yet , so didnt want to go overboard to begin with.

Super Deep Electric Reels

Sun, 2014-04-13 15:46

Hi mate the best electric reel we have used is the Daiwa Megatwin 1000, We own and use them. They have a two speed gear box which neither the Banax Kaigen or tanacom bull have. We will have more stock of them soon.

banex kaigen 1000

Mon, 2014-04-14 14:52

hi mate,

banex kaigen 1000 electric reel was not idea for deep sea, their gear are not strong enough~

used once at andaman sea for giant grouper, they failed after landed few fish,

the megatwin 1000 is better option..

cheers kelvin.

tanacom bull can be had for

Mon, 2014-04-14 20:16

tanacom bull can be had for about 720 of ebay or 750 locally -shop around( or PM me for dealer -not a site sponsor) ,the megatwin has a smaller electric motor, and twin speed is a waste in my opinion after using one

the tanacom motor if u burn it out ( mine is still going strong 2 years later is about $90 from daiwa AU the megatwin is 150 -170 also the megatwin is 300- 400 dearer to start with, I couldn't justify the extra dollars and put it towards a rod
I reckon local support/spares was worth the extra 200 for the daiwa over the kaigan

buy once , cry once, resale will also be better on the daiwa, I wouldn't buy smaller than the bull 1000

 What about the Shimano

Tue, 2014-07-08 08:27

What about the Shimano electric reels does anyone use one?

Have heard the 2 speed on the Tana Bull is pointless as even with bait and sinker weight when deep it will drop to low gear. I can get a Shimano plays for the same price as the Tana Bull.

one tackle shop pushes the Shimano and another pushes the Diawa.

any reviews on the Shimano's?

Shimano

The comment below was posted by Ozzy some time ago on here

"Having used both the Tanacom Bull and the Shimano Beast Master 9000,the Shimano is the best by far.

But nearly twice the price, but easily worth It.

JMO Ozzy"

I recently purchased the Shimano Beastmaster ZB9000 but it has yet to be tested on a solid fish. If you are thinking about the Beastmaster ZB9000 go and have a chat with Compleat Angler Nedlands. My purchase price was over $1,000 less than the retail price advertised by Bluewater stores.

Beast Master 9000

Wed, 2014-07-09 03:36

I was in Exmouth in May fishing 250-400m, I had a tanacom bull 1000 and mates had Beast Master 9000, Beast Master pissed on the Bull, ended up putting the Bull to the side and sharing the Beast Masters. The Bull could raise the fish but couldn't beat the sharks like the Beast Master. In 300m the Beast Master will get the rig to the top while the Bull had 60m left. If you can afford it buy the Beast Master....
