van staal fly reel help

Ive got a van staal fly reel the c-vex 7/8G

Im trying to swap the drag over from left hand to right hand following the directions provided as best i can understand them but im starting to damage the plastic seal inside trying to get it out.

Does anyone know how to do this change over... the manual says "switching the retrieve is simple with cvex!" well its not so simple for me haha!

Anyway let us know what you think

Kane,

I own a couple of those fly reels and very nice indeed!

For the change over, call;

Ian Bailey @

Bailey's Baitbox Shop 2/ 369 Warnboro Sound Ave, Port Kennedy, WA 6169 p: (08) 9524 6863

You may have to try that # a few times but you'll get through, he was the importer of Van!

I'd try Ryan at Oceanside,

I'd try Ryan at Oceanside, Chris at Flyworld or Rohan at Bluewater Melville.

(bit odd though, they're supposed to be toolless and able to change left and right easily)

Managed to get it in the end.... "SWITCHING THE RETRIEVE...ITS SIMPLE WITH CVEX!"

It actually is easy when you get the seal disk out...that however required 3/4 of the tools in my workshop! Man that things in tight.

Anyway job done, works a treat..also interesting to know that the one dealer listed on the van staal website for the whole of australia is baileys bait box...now hes shutting down i guess it opens the door for someone else to pick up the van staal range... ;)
