Unknown ship in harbour
Submitted by drew_ward on Wed, 2011-03-16 20:31
Was fishing bunbury inner harbour last night when I notice this medium siZe ship going up and down the shipping channel. It would pull up and sit still for awhile and the water would start boiling and then the ship would do a complet 180 spin on the spot. Does anyone have any clue what they could of been doing?? It's got me stumped

Dredge
Sound like its a cutter suction dredge doing maintenance on the channel

dredge
Carnavonites on the money id say it would be a trailer suction dredge sucking up all the silt and crap that settles
in the channel, Some harbours are far worse than others for build up of sediment etc. but
the port of bunbury (or who ever) is obligated to maintain the set channel depth for ships using the port
for pretty obvious reasons im sure.. ;)
