Cox deserves a week....
I think Cox deserves at least a week for his elbow on Vickery...but he will probably miss a week with concussion anyway. Can't see much difference to what Cox did and that of Ballantyne or Goddard...except it wasn't behind play.

AFL need to bring in Sin Bin like Rugby. West Coast penalised with the loss of a ruckman for the rest of the game. Team needs to be penalised for the actions of one of its player. This will make player think twice about doing it.
Vickery apology - what a joke. Its like a criminal pleady guilty to get a lighter sentence.
If I was the Richmond team bus driver I would have made Vickery walk to the airport and see how far he gets.

Only problem with the sin bin idea is the umpires will control who cops a red card etc. Do we (particularly interstate teams) really want that happening lets face it they often make wrong decisions or are influenced by the crowd as it is.

I'm in total agreement with you Swompa, I think that when this game matures enough to be taken seriously then they will have to visit the sin bin and send off rule. If an offending player puts his team at a disadvantage by making it one player short I don't think the team or the coach would be very happy with his performance.
In the mean time our youngsters can watch this game a see how to give a king hit from behind and injure a player and put him of the ground, then still continue to play out the rest of the match.
Hey wait a minute, isn't that how our society works at the moment law breakers get a soft outcome and the victim gets the rough end of the stick.

Kerr was suspended for whacking Marc Murphy. Also copped 2 or 3 weeks for head butting Scott West.
There was also a punch in the knackers, can’t remember who, I think it was a Bulldogs player.
He escaped punishment on that one, the tribunal accepted that he had his eyes shut when he threw the punch !

Lastchance, not so much I don't like Daniel Kerr, just pointing out that Weagles players can be undisciplined too.
Eagles supportes always come out beating their chests when one of theirs is whacked, but can never see any bad in their own.
Worsfold was called the Smiling Assasin, and Troy Wilson the Human Bowling Ball because of the way they took players out of the game (and I mean out of the game, not out of the contest), and Weagles fans loved it. Different when the shoe is on the other foot.
Vickery will get rubbed out and deserves to be. Was probably a bit of payback there but that is no excuse.
Cox has always been a pretty fair player and didn't deserve that.
What ever Vickery gets, it wont be enough if you ask a weagle !

mate get over Daniel Kerr his retired and his brain fades are long gone , as a Melbourne supporter I always remember kerrs tackle on Fraser Gerick was just great (he might get reported these days for being hard at it) , we at Melbourne had our share of thugs play for us but also some of the best and fairest EG Robbie Flower always struggled for vote in the Brownlow , but Greg Williams gets a brownlow medal figger that one out

Clubs are way too professional these days to engage a hitman , but hypothetically say Gold Coast were in a GF and a retiring opposition player was to accidently ( on purpose ) KO Gazza ..
