SWLAB GT Poppers Mini review

Howdy all,

I Tried out one of these babies up north a few weeks ago, while i didnt catch anything really worth mentioning on it up north(mainly due to weather), it survived with a few war scars (See picture). They are still new on the market, just out a few weeks ago.

The popper is equipped with 250lb split rings and similar trebels(alltho it always pays to sharpen them first or replace with chemically sharpned trebs)which is more than adequete. I found it to make a hell of a splash and can see it doing some damage on fish. Took a bit of getting used to the proper technique but once i worked it out it was smooth sailing and bit=g splashes. As for casting, i under estimated it, this thing can cast a country mile with a stiff enough rod.  It also comes in smaller size which is suitable for salmon/tailor how ever i havent had a chance to test that one yet.

Over all , a good addition to a GT popper collection, and at a retail of ~$20 it is definatly worth a look.

(P.s this is what it looked like after 2 nights of fishing oysters and hitting the rocks just about every retrieval :p )
