White, and if that fails try
White, and if that fails try carving down a potato and putting that on a bait jig and giving it a cast.
Go big or go home..

I've recently tried a variety
I've recently tried a variety of jigs both expensive and cheap in a range of colours and have caught squid on all of them, I just buy the cheap ones now. We've also tried putting completely different colours in the water at the same time and both seem to catch. Switching to quality 4lb invisible leader seemed to improve my catch rate more than colour/brand of jig and also technique/rod action. This is my experience anyway.

white cant beat it ,,,dark or light days...good all round colour...if you like working jigs..go for the d squid jigs.purple with red underbelly size 95 ..great in strong winds .but you have to work on flat days ... it boils down to what you trust in ..everyone uses different colours and they all catch...good luck

In the river, I always tie on
In the river, I always tie on a pink yo-zuri and it would be a rarity for me to change it over and yet off the coast green is my go to colour.

Black colour out fished me (I used pink then green, then orange in frustration) 6 to 1 in one session

As been said, cheap and top
As been said, cheap and top shelf jigs work and any colour but I test them at the same time and this colour harimitsu always wins for me, same colour as the ribbon weed im catchin them in, ill drift with several different colours and brands and this always wins. Gota few other harrys to test against each other next time...

I am, as I've said, merely competent. But in an age of incompetence, that makes me extraordinary.

Purple, black or orange!
Purple, black or orange! Purple has always out fished the rest, they like a quick retrieve as well
the more expensive jigs will out perform when the squid are picky. When the squid are on, any Jig will work

A pink yo-zuri is my go to
A pink yo-zuri is my go to lure. Mine is absolutely hacked apart, almost due for a new one. Next to that is one similar to what tim-o posted, more or less a black jig with red undertones.
