Snorkeling kit

Hi guys hoping some of you might be able to help. I'm looking to get  into free diving(read snorkelling with the view to go deeper) I'm chasing mask snorkel finns and a weight belt. I have looked on Mares, Tusa, Cressi Sub websites, but  have no idea what I am looking for. I am  novice so wont be diving to great depths  say max 10m with the view to go deeper.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Freediving kit ... Just get

Freediving kit ...

Just get a J-snorkel, purge, bendy bits and dry top are needless drag.

I'd recommend a black mask, not a clear one, the light they cal let thru is annoying, especially when you get a reflection off the inside of the lenses.

Masks brands - who cares, just buy one that fits AND is low volume. I have a cressi big eyes evo and its pretty decent, Alfred picked up a nice frameless from ebay. Low volume is important, it means you don't have waste breath equalising your mask.

You want closed heel fins and long blades, probably the cheapest actual freedive fin would be the seac sub one in at  dive imports in mt hawthorn.

Ben - this is a great mask - was very skeptical at first, but decided to try it out and I am glad I did.  Infact, I am just about to order another as a spare.

We stock a range of Snorkeling kits and also a range of fins to suit for novice snorkelers to free divers. If you never snorkel before, 10m is a long way down. Just look at the height of your ceiling and triple it.

Come and check out to see what suits you.

Watch long fins if you are starting out as they cane your legs if you are not use to them. Cressi Reaction Pro are a nice starting fin around $120

One that fits your foot Ben!

One that fits your foot Ben! LOL!

Try a used pair of regular fins first.  What is your shoe size, I have a couple of pairs of closed fins you can borrow. If you really get into it then you can get the longer fins.
