I havent seen any sharks, socant comment on how effective it is.

I guess id rather have it than have nothing....plus its good to swim over top of your dive buddy every so often to wake them up.

Me and my mate practice this

Me and my mate practice this regularly. I have a technique when diving for prawns I call bombing.

My mate is notsituationally aware, hence Karma weighs heavily

Works for me

I only ever turn it on when i have a pesky bronzie/hammer head or tiger trying to get my fish while im spearing.

I hang it from my float where my fish are to stop the taxman taking his share.

I have tested it multiple times with the shield swithed off (shark comes withing 1-2m) and the shark shield on (they intantely turn away and rarely come back).

I have my doubts if it would stop a 3m white coming at me full throttle.

I've had a decent bronzie

I've had a decent bronzie check me out at coral bay and I switched it on as it approached and it gave me a 5m wide birth in the shape of a arch and kept going along his way.
I like to think it was the shark shield that caused it, but as ant1 said, I'm not so sure about a full throttle attack... White or even that bull from the video in Queensland a few weeks ago.

 I had some very close

Tue, 2017-02-07 21:33

I had some very close experiences before christmas. Spot i was diving never seen a shark. Heard of sharks at said spot but never seen them.

Saw 1 around 2m, it did the usual slow swim across back and forth stayed at the range that 'Shark Shield' say

Dived some time later and saw another model a tad bigger who seemed more inquisitive. Came in for a look and dashed away when got within similar range.

Shark shield aside, a few people have said if you see a shark to keep your eyes on them if they are of decent size. If they get highly interested, initiate your leave plan to cease diving
