But on a second note, it is funny how this column over the months have turned me so loyal to the eagles. Still like Freo, but have become a lot more polarised. This is a very random comment but anyways here it goes
as the title says (never stop dreaming) at year 8 level this is the first opportunity for finals, unlike the old times when there was finals no matter how old you are. Anyway at the end of the season we finished at 2nd on the ladder, and have not beaten the top side yet. Twice got smashed by at least 60 points then 6 rounds ago lost by 5 points. Our team can hopefully win on the weekend which will put us straight to the grand final .

Thats the go Lachie,my team went through to the finals one year having never beaten the favourites who had gone through undefeated.
Cut a long story short they were way overconfident we knuckled down and ended up winning by a goal at the death.
No better feeling,(other than pulling a 20kg Dhu).

I made the Peel development squad under 15s and under 16s back in the day when I played for Baldivis, never got to play the carnivals though, first year I was in Bali and second year I was injured with the worst corky I ever got, ended up calcifying and had to get it crushed out of my quad. Later that year I got a letter in the mail on the first week of school holidays in December inviting me to Peel Colts and attatched was a diet and cardio/weights regime I had to follow to prepare for pre-season training in January, thats when I realised I didnt want to become an AFL player!
10 years since playing my last footy game im contemplating heading back to Baldivis next season for the seniors.

iam fortunate enough to have met and exchanged words with leigh mathews even have a book written and signed by leigh, one of the best to have played the game but the more i listen to his commentary and opinions of the game the more frustrated and annoyed i seem to get. it just seems to be negative in all aspects and leaves other reporters covering his negativity.
its just my opinion but i wish some of the best would just retire and leave the game gracefully

We didnt deserve the finals. Mid season sucked and the comeback was to late. At 3 zip I got excited, but now deflated.
Would be shit scared to play Richmond in the finals - might shake it up.
As "two team" I have been critisized as been non loyal to the Eagles. Not so but I just love WA, then non Vic teams with South Oz last in that bunch (port and Adelaide in that order), last Vic teams with Collie's and Hawks last.
So now go the Dockers, then Sydney. Port to be done by the upsurging Richmond I think.
