Rod/Reel Advice

Hi guys

Can anyone help get me onto a good smaller reel?

I have a 6000 (somewhere...the boyfriend has "misplaced" it) and can use his heavier gear.

Looking for a rod/reel to get into the lighter stuff and onto some salmon etc.

Thinking of a 2500 to 3000 reel and 2-6kg rod. Budget around 150-200?

Heard daiwa and shimano are best but happy with my flueger too (when I find it)

Any ideas appreciated.

Ps. needs to be manageable on dinghy but still ok to cast with.

I use a 2500 Shimano Stradic and a 3000 Daiwa Heartland and would highly recommend both of those reels.

If you wanted to save a bit of coin, just under that 150 mark is the penn affinity. Solid little reel and great price also. Passed it on to my dad and it is still a great little reel!

yeah i'd vote the affinity too, esp if its just for around perth. it's got a full metal body and great drag. one of my mates put 20lb braid on the 4000 model and has landed mackies up to about 13kg on it!
