Quobba Report - Nov 2013
Hi all
Finally have the photos from our recent trip to Quobba and a brief report of how we went. Anglers - Will, Jesse, jay and Mark
This was our 5th Trip and after all the palnning and the 11 hour drive from Perth we arrive about 2.30pm and greeted with some light rain and light winds.
We literally threw the gear into the chalet grabbed the fishing gear and by 3.30pm fishing a ledge not far north of the homestead. Conditions were perfect but no fish.
First couple of days were fairly quiet with Jesse catching a couple of Baldies and a nice cod. Will also picked up a nice Cobia. Very few mackies around and those we caught were undersize.
Was not until Tuesday that the Shark Mackeral started to show up with a few Spaniards in the mix. When then schools came through the fishing was existing with multiple fish chasing our lures.
2 days we got our limit and came close on others. We got smoked by some big Spaniards and the local shark population was again a nuisance. On many occassions we had multiple hook ups which allowed us to land more fish this trip. Got quite hectic on some of the ledges with 3 fishos trying not to get tangle.
Most of the fishing was done north of the homestead but on one occassion we decided to try a ledge south were Jay caught a nice Broadbar and Sharkie.
Overall another great trip and already planning the next one.
