Looks like FIGJAM is going to be playing as the injury sub this weekend for the battle for the spoon.
He might need to play again next year as they traded this year's first round pick (currently 2) to GWS for last year's picks 24 and 30.

The Stephenson, Phillips and Terloar debacle aside, there was some interesting pick trading from the Pies last year’s draft. They traded out their pick 33 and pick 42 for Western Bulldogs 2021 second round pick and as it currently stands the Pies have traded out picks 33 and 42 for pick 36 which allowed the Bulldogs to match Adelaide’s bid and pick up JUH at number 1.
Then to top it off they traded out their 2021 first round pick for picks 24 and 30 so as it stands have traded out pick 4 for 24 and 30 which will push them into a draft deficit for the 2022 draft if North bid on the Daicos who has only shown what he can do against 18y olds.

The Pies could conceivably end up with the spoon depending on results which means that they could have taken the highly rated Horne with the no 1 pick and still ended up with Daicos once he was bid on with pick 2 under the father/son rule....
Instead, they’ll be giving GWS the no 1 pick and going into a draft deficit in 2022 and blowing all their 2021 picks to pick up Diacos meaning they’ll probably turn a 2022 top 5 pick into a late first round draft pick.

Get used to a belting from Collingwood for the next 5 years because that's what's coming to the Eagles.

Gonna be a rough couple of years at least until we can get back into the draft after we sold the farm for Geelong's 4th best mid.
We’ve never turned over a list so I can’t see it happening this time around. Anyone with any currency who we’d be willing to part with is approaching 30 but I still think Gaff is worth floating to a team in need of an accumulator who can’t tackle and puts team mates under pressure with his disposal. We may well get some interest for the horribly out of form Darling but do you back in Allen, Waterman and Brander to lead a forward line?

The point was that the Pies could have had Daic 2.0 as well as the next best in the draft if they didn't trade out their first round pick. They still might if Adelaide and North don't bid on Daicos but I can't see either club gifting the Pies essentially two top 3 picks knowing they are committed to Daicos.
Hurn will retire I think. 300+ games, 2x AA and a Premiership captain.
Kennedy is still playing very good football and could go one more but I'd hate to see him do a Pav and go one year too far. If he retires it will be because he feels he's holding up the development of Oscar as a key forward or if West Coast feel they could have one last dip by bringing in Gunston.
Hutchings seems content being a squad player and coming in to play a role when required so should hang around to provide depth.
Shuey's body appears to be cooked. I reckon he'll give himself a pre-season to get right and back to full fitness but will hand over the Captaincy to Duggan if his body lets him down again next season.
Redden is playing solid, unheralded footy and seems to be our only mid besides Yeo that can stick a tackle and wants to stick his head over the footy and can actually hit a target unlike Sheed and Gaff who blindly bomb it.
Vardy is only getting a game because Williams (who looks to have massive upside) is out. I reckon he'll be delisted and if we need ruck depth may be brought back on as a rookie.

bunga is one of the few reliable marks in the back line. Depends on how he feels his body is holding up.
Kennedy again, is still reliable for a goal. Again, depends if his body can take it. It is a shame to see Oscar pushed to the back line where his contribution is somewhat wasted.
Vardy played his role in the GF and has filled gaps where needed. He was thrown around on the weekend.
who goes? If they play every game like the last 15 mins of the last then no one. If like the 3rd quarter then Darling, McMuffin, Gaff.
Yeo seems to get frustrated with people not playing their role. Gov seems unwilling to put effort in unless he marks the ball.

Teams need to brace for the
Teams need to brace for the imminent lack of talent coming through due to the lockdowns etc, AFL needs to extend the player lists I believe and have various concessions for the next 5+ years to ensure there isn't a division between teams due to geography. Will be very interesting to see what happens thats for sure.
