Polomar knot with mono

Hi all, whilst fishing up north, my simple paternoster rig consists of 2 dropper loops which are looped at the end onto 6/0 hooks. This stops the terminal tackle loss with sharks and also presents well.

I have found in the past when large fish are on, the loop actually cuts through presumably by the eye of the hook. Someone did suggest a polomar knot but I've only used this with braid, not 80lbs mono.

Any advice??

Thank you

Chris

 Could be mackie or shark

Could be mackie or shark snips or the edge of the hook wearing through the mono. Looking at the tails left could help with knowing which. Palomars not hard to do and a strong knot but you may get one leg of the dropper tighter than the other depending how you pull it
