Penguin Island

Thinkin about heading over to Penguin Island for a fish this Saturday. Ive never fished there before or near it.
Is it worth fishing over there this time a year? or the beaches on the mainland next to it?
Heard Salmon use to be pretty good there with some big Tailor and various reef species? Any info would be great.

the bar on the way to the island is good for whiting kg and flathead! just be carefull as a few people have died on there! there is a fair cross current! the back of the island is great for herring and tailor! woulndt think there would be many salmon there atm with the salmon run we havent had this year!
