NW Bag limits

Question;

Sharkbay bag limits, we normally do overnight trips to the islands and to be safe only take 1 days catch pp. Someone told me if you can prove the overnight trip/stay on and island you can take 2 days catch pp. I know the rules 1 days bag from 12-12pm but can anyone shed light or experience with Fisheries on this one coming back to Denham ramp.

Any help would be appreciated.

I am sure that used to be the case

But with the simplified rules I am also sure that has now changed also.

I would as others have said clarify with fisheries, but also let us know the outcome.

 Pretty sure that was correct

Pretty sure that was correct I remember reading about this a few years ago, but not sure which zones it applied to

At that time it was in print in the fisheries rule book if I remember correctly you had to keep a log on board the vessel with departure point time and date etc. may well have changed since then

See Fisheries in Denham

Drop in and see Fisheries in Denham. We do this each time we go up and let them know we plan on doing several overnighters.

Fisheries are very approachable up there and as long as you are out for the best part of 2 full days you can come in with 2 days bag limit. Leaving in the afternoon and coming in the next morning doesn't qualify.

As they told us they can usually tell if someone is taking the piss, they all live or stay locally and do take note of which trailers are parked at the ramp overnight.

Once told me they can tell how long you've been on the water by looking at the track history on your plotter (so don't clear track history) but maybe they were bluffing with that one as I can't see that info on my GPS.

Take the backroads, the Exmouth Po-po is on the prowl in conjunction with Fisheries.

Pic off their twitter feed today regarding a road side stop, anyone know any more?

 Regarding the Saints comment

Regarding the Saints comment "as long as your out best part of two days".

Rules are rules and if you follow them you can't be prosecuted. A daily bag limit is from midnight to midnight FULLSTOP. I can legally go out catch 2 snapper at 11.50pm bag and tag them then catch 2 more at 12.01 am then come in.

I have broken no rules. This is FACT
