FYI
For anyone getting one, the knobs are plasticy rubbish - so factor in some $ (you decide your budget) for a new machined ball knob. If they are the same as my seagate (which I'm told they are a JDM saltist), then the 4500 size will accept Saltiga designated knobs.
This one I picked up on ebay for ~$50 delivered. The seller also had them in blue, gold and gun metallic (silver). Size is 45mm.

There is some debate about that southcity
A few US sites have suggested they are being made in China, others say not.

my seagate is
internals (4500H): 5.7:1 gearing (digi gearing), 6 CRBB ball bearings and waterproof 10kg drag, ABS, airbail, twistbuster 2.
seagate gets 8bb, thats essentially the only difference (and the catalina gets 10bb)

seen them for sale
on a online tackle shop. not sure which one but they were going for $360 au with a 6.2 spin ratio. looks like value for money considering most mid class shimano reels are more then that.

Yep definitely seems like a good new option, should be pretty damn popular, considering they look a hell of a lot better than the saragosa too.

They are all high speed Rueben
We are only getting two sizes here. In the States they have 4000, 4500, 5000, 6000 and 6500 sizes, all with a ratio of 6.2:1

I was eyeing off a Daiwa
I was eyeing off a Daiwa Saltiga 6500H Dogfight on eBay for $1000 US which equates to about $1155 with free postage but slowly came to my senses when I realised I didn't really need one. But an excellent buy all the same.

I was thinking along the same line myself, but then I saw the light: Stella SW18000 for ~ A$1000 landed.
Better drag, better spool capacity, cheaper.

As i mentioned somewhere else
Until I feel this reel the saragosa will eat it alive. Saragosa 4000 is better and smoother than my similar size Stella, and i dont think the saltist is in the same bracket. But then I am a Shim man more than Diawa.
