New to Port Hedland

G'Day Guy's.

I think it is about time I said Hello. I have been trolling this site for about six weeks while still living in Melbourne. Now I have landed in Port Hedland its time to start doing some serious fishing.

I have learnt a lot about W.A. fishing by reading your posts and watching videos. This site has a lot of info for someone that has not done the type of fishing I am about to experience.

I will be fishing land based until me and the misses get settled in and I can find a boat as I had to sell my old one before leaving Melbourne. It was going to cost me more in transport costs than I paid for it, so time for an upgrade.

I managed to get a bit of tackle in my suit case but will have to wait about a month before most of my gear gets up here, I think thats a good enough excuse to buy more don't you? (the CFO said she will be keeping a close eye on my bank account until she gets up here).

I hope it won't be too long and I will be posting my own fish pic's and posting stories of the one that got away and maybe even the one that didn't.

So thanks for all the knowledge you guy's have passed on, now it's time to put it into practice.

Cheers Steve.

If I had a dollar for every fish I caught it would not pay for the tackle I bought.

Hi Steve, as John said I do live in Hedland, I fish land based a fair bit but also head out in the tinny occasionally, fishing around Hedland is very tide and season dependent, we target different species depending on the tide and time of year, shoot me a PM any questions that you have and I will try to help.

Welcome Steve, I'm sure it won't take you long to get into it - a lot of members up that way.
