cammmo as u said mate
prioritys doing a trip like that are fuel and water! without them your along way from mainland! i know there are pearl boats - leases and quiet a few amuteur fishos head there but dont take it for granted... food should be easy enuff with crays fish ect as you would know... my 2 trips over where unbelievable.. still never explored half of wat we wanted and could never carry enuff fuel... just one thing mate check on the areas that are closed to fishing ect now! a friend of mine got bailed by fisheries last trip.... luck they hadnt started diving when they got seen or coulda been a very very very expensive trip to paradise! most of all mate stay safe and have a blast! make sure u check out the blast zone and old huts ect....
dnt forget camera and shit load of batteries!

i took 80 liters of fuel for

Mon, 2009-08-31 21:29

i took 80 liters of fuel for each way and allowed 50 liters for each day. We didnt take any alcohol at all, we took 5 liters of water each for each day. We took rice and other non perishables that didnt require refrigeration. We took marinades and soy stuff like that and "lived of the land" for most of our meals. Tinned frit for breaky and pancake shakers.
We took a dome tent to put all our jerries in (keep them out of the sun) we also took a large mozzie dome which we set our swags up in each day. The 20 dollar cooker did the job. Torches, first aid kit, vinigar are all musts. There are no pearlers there any more so for the first 3 days there was litterally no one else there. On the eastern side near trimoulle you get phone reception so take a phone.
I took two 90 liter eskies full of block ice, spear gun, sunscrean and all the other obvious shit.
Other thing i took which was awesome was a 4m x 2m roll of spare boat carpet for the floor of the mozzie dome, awesome and dosnt take up much room.
pm me if you need some info on camp spots tides etc

cheers

Onya fellas Beer & Smokes

Tue, 2009-09-01 19:37

Onya fellas
Beer & Smokes will be the first to go on..
We will have enough fuel to get around pretty well, thanks for the phone tip brad.
As far as the sanctuary, i will not fish or spear there,... Good thing i believe.
The ice is a little worry, im thinking about throwing in the 60l engel.
i will be intending on eating squid/fish/crays ect.
I saw your pics brad and liked your set up. without having to spend shitloads i will make do with what we have as far as tent and shit, but think mozzie mesh tent looked the goods...speaking of which is it bad for sand flies and mozzies?
I will PM you brad for tides and camp spot thoughts... that will be awsome!
