Hi Guys,
Thinking of heading to Monkey Mia for a few days in May before i get to Coral Bay for a couple weeks. I will be car topping the 12ft tinnie with the quad bike underneith. If i do stop off there would it be worth unpacking the tinnie and dropping a line off Monkey Mia or am i better off sticking to land based. I think that time is when the snapper ban is on, not sure what you catch inside the gulf.

Pink snapper ban is on but
Pink snapper ban is on but good catch and release because all the big breaders are around. The water is shallow so they release well. Good cod, blue bone and blue lined emperor. Or troll for spaniards. In a 12 footer you can stick to the flats for flathead, or just head north of the ramp and at the first drop off drift for the bottom species in about 7m. I have fished alot there in a 4.2 m tinnie. On the good days its like glass. :)) we're their in april school holidays. Enjoy
Fish! HARD!

Cheers Randal,
I also have a 4.2m tinne but like to take the quad bike to Coral Bay so have to sacrifice and take the smaller 12ft tinnie instead. hoping there will be some glass off days.
