I don't think the person responsible for dumping his fish frames on the Point Peron boat ramp yesterday is a member of this site but if he/she is next time dump them offshore or use the bins provided and not in ankle deep water on the ramp one of the frames was a nice snapper I hope you never get another one if I had seen you do it I would have bollocked you

Have seen this before at a few places, I think its more ignorance in that they put it in the water rather than the bins thinking its putting it back into the ecosystem. not realising it has the potential to cause other problems and is just not a good look.

Fish frames??
Fish frames are bugger all compared to half a cow or goat skins, hooves and heads recently dumped at Carnarvons new ramp and the goat offal at Dwyer's Leap

I once put a big mulla frame at the bridge coming into in Busso back in the early 90's, and the next night there were half a dozen people fishing there. Had a good laugh at that.

Is it legal to clean and fillet your catch offshore? I was under the impression, whole carcases has to be brought back to the ramp for fisheries to identify undersized catches?? Or is this only over east?

As far as I know you can
As far as I know you can fillet at sea but have to leave skin and scales on,these no excuse for dumping near the ramp it takes seconds to walk up and place in the bin, they are right near the wash down areas that if the peanut even bothers to do that!

Never dropped frames
in the shallows, only research or out deep.
Many yrs back we were at nth wall on Quobba stn. The owner and some of his mates shot all the horses in the stockyards a bit further nth, gutted them and threw all the heads, offal over the cliffs, well guess where that all ended up....on the blows beach with all the oldies, was there an uproar.

I had an esky full of Trout / Saddletail frames to dispose of. I planned my timing for Karratha ramp when I knew there would be people going crabbing. End result was a very happy crabber, and i was happy I didn't have to handle the fish frames. If only I could get the missus to clean the esky too!
