merc wont start

Hi Guys,
I have a merc 75hp 99 model and i took it out the other day got back to the boat ramp and turned it of, then went to turn it back on to drive it back onto the trailer and it wouldn't start. It still turns over but no spark just wondering on any ideas, and where the kill switch is on these motors is.

Hey mate, i have an 02 merc
Hey mate, i have an 02 merc outboard and the kill switch is up at the controls under where the key goes in, its just a toggle switch that joins to a lanyard. Hope this helps.

ive got a 75hp merc but in
ive got a 75hp merc but in 2000 model. ive actually just had the same kind of problem. i took it in to get fixed and it turned out to be a faulty solinoid. i could still pull start it though. it cost me 80 bucks to get it fixed. hope this helps mate

After sitting on the tractor all day i remembered where the kill switch was and when i got back in tonite there it was, (just as u said ford rules) so after stressing it started up straight away. Thanks for the responses boys really appreciate it.

The exact same thing
The exact same thing happened to me at the boat ramp 2 weeks ago with a 99 Merc.
Sat in the water at the ramp cranking for ages, no spark.
Was getting close to hauling the thing out of the water and going home when it occurred to me to check the kill switch. No idea how it got flicked off (certainly wasnt me) but, after much embarassment, got her going!
When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:
n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or
n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.
