"Lure De Fridge"

 G'day All,

So that time of year has come around again..Exmouth for 10 days!!

We're leaving mandurah around 9am Thursday (bugger peak hour traffic) and planning to make it to the overnight rest stop at Lyndon  river on Exmouth Rd. Other mob in convoy will stop in Carnarvon overnight. Friday we'll jump back on Rd first thing and hope to arrive in town by 9, unload and have boat launched by lunchtime haha. The rest of boys will be heading down from Karratha on the Saturday.

The weather up there looks like its on the mend so fingers that keeps up!

So my question is, will there be any  other fellow fishwrecked crew in town at the same time?? Always good to be able to catch up and meet other members for a beer and put a face to the name.

Cheers

Robbo

Roo and goats

Tue, 2013-06-04 18:18

There are literally hundred of roo and goats all over the road from Billabong right through to Carnarvon with cattle thrown in the mix from 60km south of town.

With limited rain over the last 12 months and some showers 3-4 weeks back, it was enough to cause some run off from the bitumen and sprout grass on the roadside, attracting the roos and goats in for a feed. The tow truck drivers and repair shops here in town are getting an average of 2-3 damaged vehicles each day

So please drive at night with lots of care and patience.

imagine the blowholes road

would be carnage! I hit 3 roo's in about 2km a few years back this time of the year.
Was the old mans car with boat on tow and loaded to the hilt with enough supply's for the month.
That road in the daylight has blood patches non stop for miles!

 Good to Know Carnarvonite,

Good to Know Carnarvonite, has me rethinking departure time.  Hitting a roo or worse a cow would put a real dampener on the trip straight up.

Cheers

  1.  Travel in day lite...you can make good time and distance in the day time...eleven hours first day finish off next morning you will still be close to your launch time...recon road edges will be alive after all this rain and new feed beside the road...travel safe n tight lines

One of our members hit a cow only a couple of weeks back on his run home.
They actually have a crew picking up the road kill so that it doesn't look so bad but all the smear marks of the ones that don't get tossed on to the road side are still there.
