Lowrance Warranty

Sent my Elite 7 Ti back for a glitch and they gave me the options to upgrade to a Carbon 7 for $400.

After using a mates Carbon when setting pots I took the upgrade.

Gets delivered today so 10 days door to door.

Very happy

people complain about the lack of repair on lowrances

And they are right out of touch, really. With labour costs, you can't even look at something now for under $100, let alone buy parts to "fix"  Why pay time to have your old one fixed when you can upgrade relatively cheaply to a brand new machine with a warranty. Lowrance are built down to a price, and I think their philosophy on the  part exchange within warranty period  is reasonable.

If you don't mind me asking, what was the issue with the Ti? Bloke up the road from me had two within a few months ( 7Ti) After the first one, he enlisted my help to look at it. I reckoned the power supply wiring wasn't up to scratch, and rewired a decent supply to it, all new wire and clean connections. The replacement machine then lasted about 3 hours/  They were going black screen, you could hear the odd muffled beep when operating controls, no other sign of life.  Whitworths were saying it had to be a fault with the boat--I rang them, described the situation, and assured them he had a perfect supply with good voltage. They ended up giving him a HDS-7 as a replacement for no charge.

If I touched a thing of interest on the sidescan, then wen "goto" it would then pop up with a box saying "you have reached your destination, continue or stop"
I would press continue but nothing would happen and would have to press the button numerous times to get it to work. This was on 2 separate installations, 1 in my yak and 1 in my tinny.
