I am going to be heading to Lancelin this weekend and taking the tinnie. (4.5m 40hp)
Any tips for fishing this area as I havent been up there before?
what species are around to target?
How deep would I have to go to get them?
Cheers

First decent fish on board
Cheers for the tips Dalmatinac.
I got my First Dhuie on Friday, which also happens to be the first decent size fish I have caught since I have had my boat.
Came in at 59cm and I was finally happy to catch a fish
Was bouncy and had trouble trying to find decent bottom when the swell and chop were making large bumps on the sounder than the ground was.
Ended up getting a nice KG to 55cm and a 52cm Baldchin.
Was blowing it guts out this morning and swinging round all over the place so wh headed home.
I really must get a GPS and a map of the area as trying to blind fish with no experence is doing my head in :).
We ended up drifting around in the 30M mark slightly north out from the Island

done well
You've done very well for a first time and without a GPS. Must have been some good advice! 3 of the top table fish you can ask for in the southern region, very nice indeed.

Wasnt the first time I had
Wasnt the first time I had taken my boat out, but the first time I caught any fish.
Have taken it out to five fathom before and just caught Wrasse and some other tiny reef fish.
But this is the first time caught anything that you could eat.
Cheers
