They definately jump. Looks good when you hook an eagle ray and it takes off across the surface jumping as it goes. Out deep behind rotto we saw a Manta Ray come out the water a couple of weeks ago too.
Seen a couple now but only this year. Both have been sighted out in the 200 - 400m area. First one I saw with Jimbo while bottom bouncing out deep and the one that came out the water we saw while trolling for Marlin. We first thought it was a good fish hitting the surface.
at cottes groyne!! i put a whole herring!! and it too off!!! we tot it was a shark or mulloway !!hoping it was!! then as it got closer we really couldnt see it !! then when it jump!!! so happen we saw the bottom part of the ray !! and as ur know ray at the bottom is white and we tot it was a mulloway!! lol then as it really got closer it was a stingy!!! dam!!! it fool us!!! haha nv saw a ray jump until yest!! lol

lol yeah that happen to me last night!!

have experienced jumping
have experienced jumping rays before.
caught a 20kg+ eagle ray at twop rocks which got airbourne 3-4 times.
