Take the lot

And no undies IMO.

But seriously compromise. ! spin, make it light weight, 1 heavy spin, 1 troll and one OH BB. 7 to 4. If you are overpowered there is night time to change the line class etc.

if you are going sporty go that way, otherwise pick a heavier combo, ie for brag photos.

In my younger days has myself (not including the bossy Mrs) 1 Spin BB, 1 jig spin (plus plackie) BB, 2 flies (8 wt and 10wt), 1 chucker pre-rigged for Tuna, 1 Drifter, 3 trolls (and from memory that is only the start- I think I had 11 combo's without the bosses). And then she had about all the same for everything bar the flies.

Never ever used all or even near it.

Max we take out now is 9. (have to take a fly rod out just in case)

But have a rapter off a ball, you will!!

HOT TIP

Sat, 2011-02-19 20:10

don't carry anything with hooks on as hand luggage. apparently that is not appreciated by security...

ok little tip for you

ok little tip for you mate,

take off all tjhe hooks on the jigs and carry them in your pockets till through the boarding...lol

I got 10kg of lead jigs through that way and then put them back in my bag once I was through. My jacket weighed a ton when it went through the xray machine, but they did not care as long as no hooks in the hand luggage.

we did get some jigs through

Mon, 2011-02-21 14:51

we did get some jigs through the xray machine to carry onto the plane but they were questioned by some security guards. You just never know when you'll get the guy who doesn't like the look of them. I'd prune down at least half of those jigs and even 2 or 3 of your lighter combos. We only used our light combos once and that was only for a few hours.

The $4 per kg excess in Fiji isn't too bad, just be prepared to leave some of the cheaper jigs and lures behind for the boys. As for clothes, 2 tshirts, 2 shorts and a pair of thongs is all you need. They supply rain jackets so leave yours at home.

My carry on luggage was loaded!! 8 reels. All my jigs. rings and anything that held weight. The look on the face of the bird in the x-ray box was priceless. Still it went thru fine. And it didnt matter anyways as there was 8 people on the plane.
