Has anyone tried a Carrot Stik rod?

They are made from 30% graphite and 70% nano carrot fibre.

I picked one up at the Tackle Shack today. It is one serious rod

I know it sounds crazy, but these rods have won numerous awards, including one at Icast.

I am going to give it a twirl tomorrow. I can't wait.

I reckon it will make a great light spinning rod for off the rock walls and an even better soft plastics rod from a boat.

I am hoping some good sized skippy might have turned up at a favourite spot of yours and mine and I can give it a bit of a test run in the morning. I am going to match it up with the Heartland. It should be a pretty nice combo.

Hi Rueben It is funny. You hold it in your hands and it

Sun, 2009-06-07 11:31

feels a bit stiff. But once you rig it up it is really very flexible - but very strong.
It casts well too. I was throwing a very small ball sinker with a small piece of mulie at least 50 metres into the breeze.

The US sites certainly give them a big wrap, especially the Bass sites.

I agree with the reviews of this rod

Mon, 2009-06-08 09:13

Being scientific based when I first saw a picture in a mag I looked for them on the net and dwelved into the how. The nano fibre technology in the is impressive but I was a little worried regarding the brittleness this may create.

Graphite tips are brittle as we all know with high sticking and IMO I would never high stick these babies, because I would suspect that they would be brittle ++++.

However they would be as light as a feather and should be bloody strong for their weight and size.

What next?

A Celery Stik!!!!?

Or perhaps a Mango fibre rod. That stuff is bloody hard to get out of your teeth so why not. LOL.

Neels

I also have trouble getting chicken out of my teeth, so maybe there is some potential there too.

I will let everyone know how The Carrot Stix goes when I hook onto something decent.

I have so many blue rods, it is nice to have something that is different.
Daiwa has done alright with the decision to make its SOL range orange.
