Gulp vs Slam

A question for the soft plastic fishos.
Have any of you tried the Slam soft plastics / bio baits that are being put up as an alternative to the Gulps.
I have used the Gulps with a degree of success in deeper water (5" & 7" shads), and with a lot of success in close (6" worms) on skippy etc.
Just wondering if anyone has had a crack with the Slams and what the result was.
Cheers Steve

fact
i have heard from experienced fishos that the slams work 7 times better than gulp, a couple of guys were fishing with gulp plastics on snapper in a boat and the boat beside them was using slam as a test, the guys using slam got more pinkies in the boat than the guys using gulp. they swapped plastics with each other, and the guys using gulp before got more snapper than when they were using gulp.
ive used both and i beleive gulps are better, but who knows...

I saw a promo on Slam and bream were taking bits of it off the surface.......... They might have been bloody hungry as well.
The Slams feel very firm to the touch compared to the Gulps

plastics
cant comment on the slams as ive not used them but i speak very highly of the gulp range.... been having unreal success with them and the size and quality of the fish speaks for itself.. big pinkies dhuies trout the lot even baldchin... i think alot of using them come down to how they are rigged , what kind of gear your running aka line leader action of the rod ect... you really need to be patient and put the time in but when it happens it feels unreal thats for sure

have used both alot and i
have used both alot and i cant tell them appart gulps have been on the market for so long because they are one of the best plastics around but slam is right up there ive used them a few times around rotto once i had a big school of 6 odd kilo kingfish busting up behind the boat on the 4" minnows the ultrabite in the slam had them so worked up the were schoolin on top smashing the top of the water even when there was no food there so ide say just give the slams a go and see how they go for you

can't go past snapbacks for me
If I spent half as long fishing , as I do reading this bloody forum , I'd be twice the fisherman I am.

I got a few slams off simon
I got a few slams off simon (rep) when they first came out. i was impressed apart from being a bit stiff for my liking. however being a softplaccie and jig fisho only i quiet likr them. still remember that MOST jerkshad styles need to be worked alot more than shads and fish worm profiles as they generate less action. this means most will by the biggest they can usally the 7 inch fish them for one day or even five minutes and say there shit. All my best fish have come on 5 and 3 inch! but 7 will work.
Get out on the water and try different styles of retrieves just as much as different patterns, colours etc. at the end if the day youll have your favorites but at different times they will all work. Gulp slam atomic berkley they are all good just match the hatch.

ive been trying to get into
ive been trying to get into scented softies in the past week targeting bream. bought some gulps, snapbacks and squidgies. ive had no luck besides blowies tearing them up.
i do move around when this happens but then when i find an area with no blowies i get no bites anyway. perhaps its just bad luck, or maybe how im working them.
does anyone have any tips on how to jig these when targeting bream?
also ive been searching for some 2" gulp sandworms in motor oil/red fleck...tried 3 places and none of the stock. does anyone know who sells them?

Just use the 6" ones and
Just use the 6" ones and break them into three. I like the worms and the prawns.
Plastics arent always the best option for the swan due to the blowies. More suitable for other systems perhaps?

well in regards to my last
well in regards to my last post, i guess i was just having bad luck.
i tried all the types a previously mentioned again near canning bridge, and i finally had some luck with snapback grubs. landed 2 ~24cm bream in 15 mins - the first fish on lures for me...the rest of the hour i was out i lost a few gulps and nothing would touch the squidgies.
guess its all a learning process, i guess i have to keep going at it.

slams work well
been using the 3' minnow in the Blackwood chasing bream and pulled good solid fish at around 40cm.
they dry out and shrink quickly so either put them back in the pack or out of the sun/wind.
