Green Head / Leeman Trip Planning

As these wet and windy weekends keep rolling in my mind is turning to the next run up the coast with my boat. Got a 5.5m custom Ally centre console which can go practically anywhere weather permitting of course and is easy to beach launch if necessary. Im looking to plan a fishing trip in the coming month or so when we get a nice few days of weather, just trying to decide whether to go to Leeman or Green Head as they are a couple of places I havnt fished yet. I know they are practically around the corner just wanting people's opinions on the best accomodation and launching facilities at both these places? We would prefer a little cabin/house with power but have no problem with swagging it if need be! Also looking for advice into what depths we should be targetting this time of the year for a good mix bag of dermies!

Cheers in Advance!

Haven't been to leeman yet

Haven't been to leeman yet but i have been to Green Head a few times and it's been awsum everytime. We usually go up there and hire a house for the weekend, mates all chip in (check out stayz.com for booking). The boat ramp is easy to use and as long as you follow your GPS leaving the bay you will be fine (a few close in nuggets to be weary of close to ramp) Whenever i've been up there it has blown its arse off during the day and then cleared up in the afternoon/night. Other things to see if the weathers bad are the caves which are just out of Greenhead. We've landed big dhues in 12m of water so you don't have to head too far out. You've got me think about another road trip now :)

As SteveBW23 said accommodation is not expensive and fishing and boat ramp facilities are fantastic.

This time of the year demersals are in close. Start at 10-12 meters and work your way up to max 38 meters.

Enjoy.
